I've just read Eileen McDargh's newest book, Gifts from the Mountain, Simple Truths for Life's Complexities; it's a gem. Eileen has beautifully captured the essence of wilderness exploration with its numerous challenges and countless rewards. She gently expresses how lessons learned in the mountains can enrich our "doing, being, living, and working" back home.
Roderick MacIver's watercolors are the perfect complement to McDargh's writing: beautifully done, they show us some of the treasures to be found when we take the time to notice the quiet beauty around us. Gifts from the Mountain can be read straight through, but you'll get the most out of it if you take the time to savor each one of its joyful messages.

You are a gem to write about Gifts from the Mountain. Howe refreshing to have found a soul sister who believes that adventure and activity offer zest to life. I appalud all you have done! Having come back from trekking two remote provinces of the Himalayas, may I say, "Namaste". Warmly, Eileen
